We’re thrilled to welcome Brody Buster, one of the most electrifying one-man bands in the blues world today, to our Festival this January. His story is legendary.
Brody first picked up one of his mom’s old harmonicas at age 7, unknowingly launching a journey that would take him from small hometown stages to Beale Street in Memphis, where he stunned the blues world for nearly a decade. Before he was even a teenager, he was sharing stages with giants—Quincy Jones, Chaka Khan, Keb’ Mo’, Lee Oskar, and many others—and becoming a regular featured performer at BB King’s Blues Club, where BB himself took a personal interest in the young prodigy.
Those early years brought national attention, too. Brody appeared on major TV programs including The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Dateline, Crook & Chase, The Jon Stewart Show, and even made appearances on Baywatch Nights and Full House.
As he grew older, Brody expanded his musical world, playing in bands, writing songs, and maturing into a powerful stage performer. Then came a major milestone:
Best Harmonica Player — 2017 International Blues Challenge (IBC)
In 2017, Brody debuted a new project—Brody Buster’s One Man Band—a high-energy explosion of electric guitar, harmonica, snare, kick drum, and pure attitude. Representing the Kansas City Blues Society at the IBC, he walked away with:
- 1st Place — Best Harmonica Player
- 2nd Place — Best Solo/Duo Act
He showed Memphis that his childhood spark had become a full-blown musical fire. As one IBC judge put it:
“The most talented musician I’ve seen here.” — Rick Booth
Since then, Brody has toured across the U.S. and Canada with standout performances at major festivals including the Montreal Jazz Fest, Tremblant International Blues Festival, Bronze Blues Festival, Tall City Blues Fest, Paola Blues Fest, and countless clubs and stages.
Brody has released multiple albums—both band projects and solo work—and continues creating new music while pushing his one-man-band show to even greater heights.
