5am” has a melancholy feel, a bluesy ballad starting with soft electric spreads. Bex’s vocal is late-night and resigned. The track is full of charismatic regret and her guitar playing is prominent, poignant, and emotive throughout. The song tells the story of a drunken late-night fight with a lover, culminating in a drunken white flag of emotional guitar peaks. It’s slightly influenced by Gary Moore hat doffing, to finish, no rock n roll endings akin to a melodic 5am pass-out. It makes for addictive listening.”

Bex Marshall has a superabundance of smarts and edgy spirit to go along with her surety of purpose. She conjures a vocal melting pot of old black woman’s heartache and powerful gritty soul and unique guitar skills which have been labeled by other guitarists as “the goal.”

The long-awaited studio album Fortuna is a ten-track blues tapestry that bulges to the edges with addictive hooks and storylines. Bex is a writer of notability, she pushes the boundaries of blues and weaves the genre in and out of blues, funk, rock, and Americana.

Bex steps forward with this record as a leading female guitarist, producing her powerful, self-penned album with soaring lead lines, technical ragtime, and ballsy slide-playing.

It’s been ten years since Bex Marshall’s last release. During this time, Bex has experienced a busy touring schedule, independently breaking into several international markets. Fortuna is an intense culmination of focus and personal release over the last few years.

Bex was able to stand still for a moment and draw in local London talented friends including Richie Stevens on drums (Tina Turner, Simply Red, George Clinton), Toby Baker on keyboards (BB King, Eric Clapton, Alexander O’Neil, Sinead O Connor), B.J Cole on Dobro (Elton John, Coldplay, Sting, Shania Twain, Robbie Williams), New York’s  Robert Eugene Daniels on bass (RIP “Red Bass”) Aurora Mannola on bass, London’s gospel Queen Shola Adegoroye, and legendary Danny Bryan on percussion (Taj Mahal).

After a week-long intense recording session at Snakepit Studios in North London, Fortuna was created. It’s an album of soulful rock blues, with funky undertones with touches of gospel and roots. The album was engineered, co-produced and mastered by Nick Hunt (Dave Stewart, Boy George, Placebo, George Clinton) who Bex has worked with on her previous album House of Mercy.

“I have been influenced by multiple artists,” says Bex. “For me it never stops. Songwriters, vocalists, and guitarists – you name it!

“I grew up listening to Tina Turner. Vocally, she was my heroine. Her tone, soul, and vocal range was so versatile. Other influences include Eric Clapton’s cool guitar style, John Lee Hooker’s back porch flavour, Freddie King’s sting, Hose Feliciano’s flair, Janis Joplin’s ragtime, and Elton John and Bernie Taupin’s songwriting. I was lucky as my uncle had a stunning vinyl collection, and I was able to absorb all these relevant box ticking blues rock greats.”

“She’s mastered the art of making new material sound like it’s been found in long forgotten vaults,” says Net Rhythms. Bex holds a songwriting retreat twice a year in Cyprus and believes that “bad songwriting is affecting the quality of our suffering.”

The album’s lyrical content touches on the all too familiar addictions of life, from love to liquor, changes in society and bitter regret. The album features nine original tracks, one being an instrumental and one cover.

“The album is where I am today musically and philosophically and reflective of the performer I am now,” says Bex. “I wanted to take the hard lumps out of life, and present them back in a different light, sometimes with humor, sarcasm, or resilience but always with a shed load of tenacity. I wanted to make a record with iconic guitar sounds, heavenly funky keyboards, roots infected vocal lines with the funk in the trunk. The album is the most upbeat offering from me to date and I want to produce a show of high energy blues rock euphoria to reignite people’s mojos.”

During lockdown Bex’s good friend and bass player “Red Bass” (aka Robert Eugene Daniels) was living in London with us and after a few months sadly passed away. She was lucky enough to capture some of his bass lines in Snakepit Studios. Bex recorded demos for the album and finally used them in five of the 10 album tracks. “Red was a unique musician,” reflects Bex. “I was honoured to play music with him for over 20 years.  We even shared the same birthday.”

The final track of the record is called “When It’s Gone” it’s a poignant song although written several years earlier, BJ Cole (Tiny Dancer, Coldplay) plays dobro on this track as a tribute to “Red.”

ALBUM TRACK BY TRACK

PREACHING TO THE CHOIR – This is a no-nonsense guitar track and firmly sets the pace of the album. It’s a blues rock ignition to the album engine and the third single to be released March 1st. Anthemic, skyscraper guitar licks kickstart the track and launch into driving funk groove train. This song gets straight to the nitty gritty, with lofty gospel vocals from Shola Adegoroye. Bex’s drawl shoots the accusation to the guilty party… preaching to the choir. Political? Personal? Judge for yourself.

DIRTY WATER – This is the second track from the album, and it’s originally penned by Buddy and Julie Miller. It’s the only cover on the album. “I’ve been playing the song for a few years, but my interpretation is a lot grittier,” says Bex. “The original was so laid back, and a great song, but I wanted to ramp it up and make it howl with pain.” The track starts with an acapella vocal reminiscent of a back porch lament, gathering momentum into a tribal hambone, all heading towards a danceable rocker and crescendo of guitar licks and promises of abstaining once again.

I CAN’T LOOK YOU IN THE EYE – This track features powerhouse slide guitar performed by Bex. The track was co-written by Scott Coopwood (Clarksdale, Mississippi) who’s guitar playing features as the solo (playing a custom Les Paul). Other musicians featured include Barry Barnes and recorded in Clarksdale, Mississippi. This four-to-the-floor number bombards the blues crossroads with harmonious heavy blues guitars and lyrically temps fate, while coyly celebrating the human consciousness of lust.

5AM – The change of tempo is stark and the pining and longing of the electric guitar spreads that repeat through the song, hypnotizing and encapsulating the regret which continually wheels around her head. Toby Baker’s Rhodes playing behind the guitar reflects the gentle madness of her frustrating inability to make it all better and harness the mood of the song to late night. Bex’s guitar solo transformers into a dramatic longing of emotion until conceding to the hour of 5am

JUNGLE – Slide guitar comes in like a kid skidding over a shiny polished floor with a big smile on its face and sets the scene for a rockabilly inspired chicken pickin’ slide guitar solo. It’s a jungle out there! Imagine all the people you know are animals or insects, a humorous toe tapper, honky-tonk piano bar room frolics!

TABLE FOR ONE = Mid-tempo bass led groover, with Hammond and piano dominant throughout. The tale-telling vocals depict a lonely meal. The song features funky rhythmic stabs echo a Bo Diddley feel and keep the roots firmly while the jazzy lead break encourages a sarcastic look at the stigma attached to woman who like to eat alone, culminating in lead guitar outro.

FORTUNA = Boom and we’re off! The title track of the album, shooting out of the stalls in a Steve McQueen Bullet-style car chase. The resonator dominates with heavy funk driving drums from Richie Stevens and sensational bass harmonizing bass playing from RED BASS smothered in piano drama. This is the kind of energetic lunacy to let your imagination run wild.

LAY DOWN AND DIE – As you fly off the edge of the cliff of Fortuna at 100 miles an hour, the intro riff catches you and takes you on a ZZ Top reminiscent chugger, a good old-fashioned blues riffs but with quirks, slightly different Texas inspired blues rock. Lay Down and Die – “Everybody wants to go to heaven, but nobody wants to die.”

SCRAPYARD DOG – The intro conjures up images of a slightly limp character walking slowly up to no good. The clavinet gives a vintage circus-feel to this track and Richie’s drums throw in a loose roots-reggae feel every now and again, playing late in the beat while the walking bass plows on, Bex plays her Ozark resonator back porch ragtime rock solo.

WHEN IT’S GONE –The “Maggie Mae” vibe of this song mixes into the sweeping chorus of BJ Cole’s guest Dobro playing, banks of layered harmonies reminding us that “When its gone, it’s gone.” Bex’s acoustic ‘63 Gibson hummingbird guitar harmonizes with BJ. The sweet harmonies of strings take over this end of the album track. The song embodies reflective sentiments, educational and a warning to all.

Week 1 Schedule

Week 2 Schedule

These are current as of December 6, 2023. But the good news fans and friends of good fun times for great Causes in January in Mexico is that we are still adding performers and side events to make the 2024 Fest Better and Better.

Bluesman Brandon Isaak is a “national treasure” say Tom and Jack Lavin from the famous Powder Blues Band of Canada and we’re excited he’s joining us in Mexico in January

With three acclaimed albums under his belt, the most recent in 2023, and a musical journey that began at the tender age of four, Brandon Isaak has carved a niche for himself in the blues world. His soulful voice, virtuoso guitar skills, and infectious energy have captivated audiences across the globe. From smoky blues clubs to grand festival stages, Isaak’s performances are a testament to his passion and artistry.

We are very excited about having, both Brandon Isaak and Cliff Stevens joining us for the second weekend of our Events. Today we feature Brandon. Brandon is a unique high-quality performer, a Bluesman, with excellent original material, who is up for 4 Awards in 2023 from the Maples Blues Society, Canada’s foremost awards organization. He can move a crowd, he can thoroughly entertain a crowd, and that’s foremost with us at our Tequila Rock ‘n Blues Explosions Fests.

Reprinted from BlueFrogStudios.ca Article preceded his sold-out November 17 show.

“More than 12,000 fans saw Brandon Isaak open for the Colin James concert at the White Rock Concerts at The Pier in Summer 2023. This is your chance to see Brandon with his full band, The Saints of Swing, up close in the acoustically perfect Blue Frog Studios.

What separates this Yukon-born Juno Award-nominated artist from the rest of the pack besides his world-class musicianship and songwriting, is his ability to connect and involve the audience in his live shows.

After many nominations by The Maple Blues Awards, (Canada’s national blues awards) this Yukonion guitar slinger finally won his first MBA last year for (Acoustic Act of the Year). The nominations were just released again and Brandon once again has a nomination… (Guitarist of the Year). We’ll have to wait and see what happens. Last year he had nominations for (Song Writer of the Year), (Acoustic Act of the Year) and (Album of the Year) for his latest solo album; Here On Earth.

Brandon is joined (for the November 17 concert) by his all-star band, The Saints Of Swing featuring some of the finest musicians in the country- Mike Kalanj on the piano and keyboards, Pat Darcus on the Upright Bass and Chris “The Wrist” Norquist on the drums.

With a lineup of songs that span the blues genre, Brandon Isaak is set to stun audiences once again with the release of his new album, One Step Closer. Isaak explores classic iterations of the blues with the occasional modern twist. The record flirts with a vintage, New Orleans sound and incorporates an array of old-time instruments, from fiddle and banjo to washboard and lap steel. Isaak creates a rich, timeless culmination of sounds, styles, and themes with the power to transport the listener to the French Quarter and beyond.

Come on out and help celebrate this great new release from one of Canada’s top blues performers on the scene today. It’s going to be a great evening of heavy-duty roots and blues!

Brandon Isaak is a one-man band playing a foot-operated drum kit, neck rack harmonica, guitar and vocals. His original blues songs ring with authenticity and wit and his singing, guitar and harmonica playing are the living spirit of the best of the blues today! I consider Brandon to be a national treasure!”
Jack Lavin – “Powder Blues”

“The multi-talented Brandon Isaak is like a fresh wind from the Pacific Northwest – bringing exciting new life to older blues forms. Singer, guitarist, songwriter – Brandon evokes a range of emotions from rollicking to plaintive, always providing memorable and enjoyable listening!”
Barbara Sims – Sun Records
Head of Publicity – 1957-1960

Now The Backstory And More Information Below

Nobody heard the big Explosions on November 15 in the Tequila Rock n Blues Explosions Fest office.  Not an explosion of Rock ‘n Blues music.  An explosion of bad news with potentially very damaging results to the 2024 Festival. We were reeling, not rocking.

Two unrelated headliner performers, our biggest ever, on the same day if you can believe that coincidence, asked for a deferral to our 2025 or 2026 Festivals for medical reasons. We want to make that work.  Two others have subsequently just gone AWOL, gone missing on us, astounding yes, but true, and that means they are not coming for 2025 or 2026 either.

An Aside About How This Could Happen To A Growing Fest With A Loyal Fan Base.  We are an Old School style operation here. Maybe to a fault. Great Music for Worthy Causes By Volunteers. Handshakes And Verbal Agreements As We Look For the Right Combination Of Performers With Big Hearts Who Want Some Downtime and Fun Time In Mexico In Late January.  “A big learning experience” is what Fest Director Bob Rempel called it.  And we love even more the pérformers and fans and partners that Have our Back too.

It took a few days to process all this and decide our strategy. No tequila-mezcal was necessary for a fan-friendly approach that helped the Fest stay on target to keep achieving its “Better and Better 2024-2026 strategy and fundraising goals. Go back to basics, go back to first order priorities was the advice we received.  But, no denying it, a shot or two of tequila or mezcal did not hurt in helping us get back to glass-half-full thinking.

Now here we are today, a few weeks later, feeling better and more confident than ever.

We are pleased to announce today:

-In light of the regrettable cancellations by Performers we have promoted for months to our fans, any ticket holder for 2024 who wishes to defer their ticket to either 2025 or 2026 will be able to do so, by informing us of the same by Written Communication before January 19 midday.  No penalties or fees. This will allow us to put 2024 fans in those seats.

-In the meantime, on January 19 at Madana Restaurant, the Rock and Blues back room we all affectionately call “Small Room, Big Fun” has Sold Out. A second show for Zihuatanejo with all or most of the first weekend Fest performers has been scheduled for Monday, January 22. Same time, same location.

The second weekend January 25, 26, 27 events have grown considerably stronger with performers

-Cliff Stevens of Montreal, Canada with 5 blues rock albums to his credit will join us January 25-27.  In Cliff’s case not only has he got 5 albums of original music, he is also known as the “Canadian Slowhand”.  He is considered one of the foremost Eric Clapton music interpreters worldwide.  More on Cliff:  https://www.thesoundcafe.com/post/a-conversation-with-montreal-bluesman-cliff-stevens

-Brandon Isaak, of North Cowichan, BC, Canada, with three blues albums to his credit and just recently 4 Maple Blues Award Nominations for 2023 will also join us January 25-27.  When you see Brandon you can affectionately say “Hey Bluesman”.  He love the title and his recorded music and live performances show it. In November performed at a “Sold Out”  show at the famous Blue Frog Studios in Vancouver, Canada.  website social

More on Brandon:  https://edifyedmonton.com/culture/performing-arts/brandon-isaak-saint-of-swing-boss-of-blues/

The first weekend will now allow us to feature our first International performer (non-USA-Canada-Mexico) to a much great degree. Bex Marshall of London, England.

She has a great pedigree.  Selected as the voice of “Janis Joplin”  by Big Brother and the Holding Company’s original lead guitarist Sam Andrew who originally brought Janis into Big Brother in San Francisco, from Texas, for their European Tour in 2014, her voice and guitar skills will amaze everyone.  We have scheduled a special Tribute Homage to Tina Turner

Bex with Big Brother original lead guitarist and band leader Sam Andrew, 2014

Recently we announced Charlie Jacobson as our Musical Director ensuring all performers    He will now assume a front-line performance role as a Headliner as well.  Charlie is a fan favourite from previous years, an excellent guitarist and multi-instrumentalist, and has a great rock and blues mix of originals and covers.  We may even get a little Bob Seger tribute from Charlie.  He’s working on something he told us.

We have moved the Beatles’s “1965 at Shea Stadium” and the Highway to Hell AC-DC sets, 30 minutes each at different times in the evening, to the first weekend.  They will be presented by Norbert Aguilar and his Chile Vudu band of Morelia, Mexico whose brief walk-on performance in 2023 told us we had to bring him back.  Now back with his power trio band!

Unofficially we’re calling it Margarita Sunday.  Our Margaritaville.  Beach Rock takes over January 21 at the Beach, (Playa Linda’s Coco Ixtapa Beach Klub, 1:00 pm start all afternoon) will be headlined and opened by a special one time only performance of the very well known Hamilton, Ontario Canada, 3 For The Show.  Top 40 Classic Rock music.  3 Guys Who Love Their Classic Rock.  They also perform in Canada’s biggest CCR/John Fogerty Tribute Band called Mystic Highway Band.  Plus Fest Performers on stage all afternoon until about 6 pm.  Steps away from the Ocean with a big dance floor just for the occasion.

Trebor Villa of Morelia will assume a more prominent front-line role, with his early Bob Dylan set, his Jimi Hendrix and other classic rock music. as will Marianna Gajma, Mexico’s next shining vocal star. Her stage presence and engaging personality will win you over quickly we’re sure.  Both will be with us throughout the entire Festival January 19-27, 2024

Mariana Gajma

We Are Truly A “Come Together” Event For Performers and Fans That Feel That Way About The Power of The Music of Our Lives To Help Create More Good Where We Are…while having big fun and enjoying one of the best Winter Paradises possible.   The Events Of The Past Few Weeks As We Describe Below Have Reinforced That For Us.

In November performed at a “Sold Out”  show at the famous Blue Frog Studio in Vancouver, Canada.  website social

More On Our New Performers:

For Chris Duarte Please Follow This Link To Our Part 1 News Relase Today For More Detailed Information:  Chris is a high-energy world-class blues, and rock guitarist, with jazz expressions also in his play from time to time. Fifteen albums to date including one released earlier this year.  He agreed to come earlier and join us on January 22, just so we could present a collaboration or two for our special Fundraising Dinner of two of the world’s best together of stage.  Priceless moments but only at the Fundraising Dinner.  When we asked if he could help us with that he quickly responded “I’m Your Guy”.  We don’t make this up folks.  A real breath of fresh air in the industry.  A good guy.  He will be with us until the end of the Fest on the 27, so many up close and personal opportunities, to get to know Chris both as a world class musical talent and as a quality person.

Gil Gaidola: (mystichighwayband.com) Gil is the lead vocalist and guitarist of Canada’s very popular Mystic Highway Band, based out of Hamilton, Ontario Canada. The band performs extensively in Canada and the USA to audiences thrilled with the quality of the performance and the likeness.

Gil is also a very popular solo acoustic performer, with a large song list, and the Fest has asked him to present songs by two legendary folk-rock icons, who have recently passed: Gordon Lightfoot and Jimmy Buffet.  As well as songs like “Eve of Destruction” and “What So Funny About Peace Love and Understanding” to tie into our Generations Unite…For Peace, Love, Understanding and Mother Earth theme throughout the events of the second week of the Festival.

Gil has a Big Heart that knows no bounds it seems, so when we told him we needed a fun but highly professional act for a concert-style show for our big fundraising dinner he said “I’m your guy”.

(We said, we heard exactly the same thing from another performer…Chris Duarte).  There’s a theme here we remarked. “Big Hearts are Big Hearts naturally. That’s who they are in life and we love them for that. Maybe we need to get that “I’m Your Guy” shirt ready for the Fest ????)

Gil will perform first with a full 1 hour 15 minute plus show at a special fundraising dinner and concert Monday, January 22 and then stay around through the week and participate in the events. We also feature a “Gil Unplugged” a 2 hour Happy Hour show (why not make the happy hour longer in Mexico, we say) presentation on January 24. We’ve also extended Gil’s time on stage for January 26.

Here’s Gil and Band with an under the radar but infectious CCR song that everyone loves. Green River.

Gil, in middle.

Bex Marshall  (bexmarshall.com) From London, England, Bex Marshall is the first of many future performers from England or Europe to perform at the festival. The festival organizers are committed to showcasing the best talent from all over the world, and we are very excited to have Marshall kick off this new chapter in the festival’s history.  Bex is known for her powerful vocals and bluesy guitar playing, Marshall is a four-time British Blues Award winner and has released six albums over the course of her career. A new album, labelled “Fortuna” is to be released before the end of 2023 and signals the start of extensive “Bex is Back” touring for her.  Her previous album, “House of Mercy,” was released in 2020 and was met with critical acclaim. The title song became a popular hit in England.  The album features a mix of blues, rock, and soul, and showcases Marshall’s raw talent and emotional vocals. Bex joins us for the first weekend starting January 19 and will be with us until January 27. Guitar Clinics, Writers Workshops Including Songwriting and Of Course Great Music With Her Original And A Large Song List.

Here’s Bex with I Can’t Look You In The Eye from 2019

Steffie Beltt  We feel honored to have her with us.  Talk about a future shining star worldwide. A powerful stage presence she is best heard and seen live.  Steffie is a young Mexico City vocalist of Mexican and Cuban backgrounds, who has already performed on stage with the likes of Buddy Guy, Taj Mahal, Billy Branch and Bobby McFerrin. She fuses blues with genres such as soul , jazz , rock . , pop , R&B , funk for a unique sound that appeals to all ages.  We are very pleased to have Steffie with us to Headline our Generations Unite theme for the Fest’s second week.  Her concept show, Long Cool Woman In A Black Dress” which she has agreed to present for our fans will feature the music of all Generations from the 50’s to Current Day and is a one of a kind show that is being put together for the Festival.

More on Steffie at this link (Wikipedia)

Steffie sings the blues for you: Te Dedico Este Blues

She is truly a Big Heart as well and works actively to support street animals in Mexico.  See her wearing the Shirt proudly, below.:

Norbert Aguilar  (@norbertbones) Norbert is a well liked and respected very knowledgeable radio broadcaster, (we used to call them d.j’s), podcaster and blogger in Morelia Mexico by day and by night he unleashes his great rock voice for classic rock music of all kinds. Plays bass guitar as well. We saw an impromptu performance of AC-DC and Zeppelin music in 2023 at a Zihua event of ours, and the Fan reaction was “We want more of this, more of Norbert”.  We agreed because we likex it equally as much. So we’ve made this a set part of our Fest for the second weekend.  Norbert will do two concept sets, the Highway to Rock Heaven The AC-DC Inspired Party Rock Set and the Beatles 1965 First Stadium Show In the USA, in it’s entirety.

Here’s some very raw fan shot video from 2023.  In celebration of being back rockin’ and rollin’ in 2023 after a 2 year absence. https://www.facebook.com/1192853910/videos/726033789185507/

Austin-based guitarist, songwriter, and singer Chris Duarte has often been compared with the late Stevie Ray Vaughan. It’s heady stuff for the musician, who plays a rhythmic style of Texas blues-rock that is at times reminiscent of Vaughan’s sound, and at other times reminiscent of Johnny Winter. The truth is, Duarte has his own sound that draws on elements of jazz, blues, and rock & roll. Duarte is a six-time Blues Music Award nominee and has released 15 albums over the course of his career. His latest album, “Ain’t Giving Up,” was released in April 2023 and has been met with critical acclaim. The album features a mix of blues, rock, and soul, and showcases Duarte’s virtuosic  guitar playing and expressive vocals.

Here’s “Nobody But You” official music video from his latest album.  Great rockabilly sound showing the versatility that we will see on stage.  From Jimi Hendrix to Stevie Ray to Eddie Van Halen to uniquely Chris, it’s all there in one package.

Here’s “Big Legged Woman” one of Chris’s most popular original songs, at the Dallas International Guitar Festival earlier this year.  https://youtu.be/mH_-23DyWlE?si=YWSWPP88Kocqdlm5

Our Other World Renowned Blues and Rock Guitarist and Vocalist Joanna Connor Is Coming To Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo to be with us from opening night January 19 through the 22nd. She also has 15 recorded albums to her credit, the most recent being “Best of Me” from earlier in 2023

After a very successful relaunch of the events in 2023, the Paraiso Society organizers decided to commit seriously to “Better and Better Festivals and Events” and create an important Community Legacy.   Our detailed  “Better and Better” Vision and Action Plan for 2024-2026 for the Paraiso Society’s Rockin’ Fun Festivals (available to all for download at (https://tequilabluesrock.com) includes a major new commitment to raising funds to build or renovate a facility for Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo and region, with a target of completion by  2026 end of the year, that will:

1) create a unique Animal Rescue shelter for the entire region with a special focus on senior dogs and cats and providing them treatment, care, and the quality of life they deserve too;

2) create a special music education program, a “School of Rock and Blues” it could be called, with facilities and equipment and training, and special support for disadvantaged youth and;

3) a Performance Stage with all the necessities that could hold events by the Youth Performers or even our own Festival Events.  Meetings rooms and a Film Theatre for our future Film Festival are also in the plans.

The vision and action plan also states that we are committed to building our local and national Partnerships over the next 3 years.   We are pleased to announce today our first 3-year partnership agreement with the new luxury Luana Suites of Playa la Ropa, Zihuatanejo  https://luana.mx  This will involve their generous donation of a prize(s) for fundraising, accommodations for future performers, and additional Festival events at their location such as this year’s Meet and Greet-Open House at their location on Friday afternoon January 19.

Partnerships in transportation, accommodations, food and beverage, and tourism both local and national are of particular interest to us so we can support and offer more options to the growing number of tourists and performers that will attend our Events, said Rempel the chairperson.  “Let’s Talk and help build the region,  help build your business and image and help us build better events that will attract more tourists and locals to you and us”, he said.

Music is truly a major part of the Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo experience for visitors and locals as the Washington Post article said a year or so ago, Bob  Rempel stated.

“Taking place from January 18-28, 2024, and the last two weekends of future years,  the unofficial Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo Rocks Week with both the Tequila Rock and Blues Explosion Festival and the new Generations Unite Festival (Generations United for Peace, Love, Understanding, Kindness, and Mother Earth)  will help further transform Ixtapa-Zihuataenjo into a vibrant hub of cultural immersion, artistic expression, and joyful festivities.”  “With its rich history and diverse community, and now “Magical” tourist status Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo and region serve as an ideal backdrop for this one-of-a-kind event that embraces the spirit of fun in paradise, with flavors of Mexico everywhere and hearts open widely to do more for the community at the same time”, Rempel stated.

Throughout the festival, attendees will have the opportunity to indulge in a wide array of related unforgettable experiences and moments we call them.  The Better and Better Vision and Action Plan 2024-2026 also highlights several improvements and changes for 2024 Events.  Here are some highlights of what’s new for 2024-2026!
