Our Volunteer of the Yearof the Year, our MVP, the Most Valuable Volunteer (MVV) is Monique Martel of Montreal Canada. She worked tirelessly, showed lots of initiative, brought a big group together and handled the Merch table flawlessly. Has worked on events for 4 years in a row now.
Say Hello to Donny Bachman of Spokane, USA, our Rookie Of The Year, a first-time volunteer who stepped up fully when another long-time volunteer and leader, Ken Ristau had to delay his trip to Zihua. Pouring tequila shots at the start of each event, selling Raffle Tickets all with an easy-going approach that fits in so well with our group and the way we operate.

That would be in the words of Bob Rempel, Fest Director when presenting the awards, “We know we’re not always the most organized, but we’ll dance with you and rock with you because we love the music too. Not our first rodeo, fans getting great high quality music and a chance to dance and have fun, and feel young again is our first priority”
The Awards were presented Thursday February 26 at Madana Restaurant our Zihua Rock Room venue for the past 4 years. Together again the Team Tequila Social Club. Our name for a group of great folks that come together to bring a fun event with a message to our Mexico winter that feels like summer. In the hidden paradise we love. The whole group that brought you January’s rockin’ Fest was there. Ideas floating around a plenty. Tequila shots too, gotta do it, it’s in our name Everyone leaving in late March and early Aprll for a while we find out as we compare notes, so we decided to also call March 20 & 21 our “Mexico Farewell See You Soon Again Party” R.U. Ready To Rock and Dance Your Asses off one more time and say goodbye to all your friends. We Are !
