We’ve told you in the past few days about the great vocal talent coming to Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo for January 27 & 28 for the Blues & Rock Festival. We’ve already featured Chris Ghidoni, Joseph Leal, and Torke Ross.
Today we’re very pleased to feature, Isidoro Negrete Reynoso, a man whose lifetime of performances has been dedicated to presenting the Blues. Through vocals, harmonica, and guitar. His Mexico City-based band is called The Blues Machine…La Maquina del Blues. Through his weekly internet radio program presenting the lives and music of great blues performers, past and present.
And very much a Big Heart. His wife Susanna and him operate a small animal rescue shelter and take in many homeless street dogs and street cats in Mexico City and give them the best in medical treatment and food.
Here’s a great 1-minute video clip of Isidoro on lead vocals. From a 2020 Concert in Mexico City. Follow the link. By the way that’s Torke Ross, who is coming here as well, on guitar to the left, sitting in at that performance for the band’s regular lead guitar player.
And here’s Isidoro with a great-sounding harmonica solo from a Mexico City concert in 2018 that we caught live on video.

Your Vote Counts. See Below. Sharing some great music we love. We’ll continue through June with more posts like this as we talk to possible Headliners for Go Mexico for the Cause in January. Most of it is newly recorded, or newly remastered. Who do you love? Who would you love to see live on our Stage in Mexico? We have about 20 performers on our not so Short List, and we’d love to hear what you think about each.

It’s not quite Searching for Sugarman, but we’re serious about finding that one great band, or performers, maybe more than one, ready to be a big fan favorite at our Go Mexico rock and blues events-always for fun in the sun, always for a great cause or causes, in the winter 2022-2023. Who wants Mexico at the beach in the warmth in January? February? March?
It’s May 1. We’re feeling good. So is “Summer” or “Maggie May” (let’s let Rod Stewart and Ron Wood perform their ode to Maggie of May in the comments below). We’re not sure of our beautiful Latina model’s real name. I like “Summer”. Here she is standing at what looks like the Zihuatanejo Bay in Mexico telling us to go enjoy summer and all it has to offer because Winter Festing in Mexico comes soon after. And to tell you as well, that we’re pitching some clubs in Alberta and soon in Manitoba and elsewhere about a new campaign of ours for our summer travels. A night of great music in “Battle” format to discover at least one great act. The Battle To Go Mexico on January 26-29, 2023 in Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo, or another one of our event dates in places like Mexico City or Mazatlan. And as we always do, try to raise as much as we can for a very timely and worthy cause…perhaps something like “Peace…One Love…A Night For Ukrainian Refugees Resettling In Canada and the local community. We’ll keep you informed friends. Just wanted to tell you what we’re working on. Have a great May and summer months!
January 28-30, 2022 in Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo and February 3-6, 2022 in Puerto Vallarta
Gil Gaidola, from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada lead vocalist and lead guitarist for Mystic Highway, one of Canada’s best Creedence-John Fogerty Tribute Bands, plus performing all kinds of classic rock hits we know and love.
Not to be missed for a fun night or weekend when he is in your area.
He loves Mexico, he loves animals. He is coming to help support our Tequila Rock ‘n Blues Explosions Fests and our fundraising for Street Animal Rescue in Mexico.
