Two nights only. Two different can’t-miss nights. As a special support to our fundraising for Street Animal Rescue, big animal lovers themselves, they have agreed to present two distinct shows with different music each night. Love these guys! Big hearts truly!
Plus we’ve packaged them with three other great rock and blues and r&b acts, plus jams and collaborations by all performers including Geoff and Chris. Charlie Jacobson from Red Deer, Alberta, Canada with Kristell Rodriguez and America Hernandez of Morelia, Mexico performing with him, The Oralia Band, and The Steely Band with Karen Melendez. Both Oralia and Steely Band are from Morelia, Mexico as well. It all starts at 6:00 pm and there is 4.5-5 hours of live music and great fun by international-level performers just here for two nights.
Sharon Ristau of Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada, and Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo, Mexico, who has seen them two times already, said to us earlier in December this year when we confirmed they were coming back to Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo and would in fact present two different shows with different music each night, “Best date night, best two dates nights in a row ever” “They do this show almost year-round in big theatres in Germany, she said, and they are real pros. They love Mexico for some downtime and fun like all our other out-of-country performers plus strong animal lovers and supporters of our Street Animal Rescue cause, it’s a natural fit for them to come to Paradise, Mexico, what we call Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo, to perform, have fun and support our fundraising Cause.

Chris and Geoff Dahl, real brothers from London, Ontario, Canada mastered their craft as bluesmen in the early ’90s while performing and recording with several r&b/blues/pop recording acts including BLACK AVALON (A&M records) CASSANDRA VASIK (Epic records)THE BUSH DOCTORS (A&M records), MELODY CURRANT (Motown/Universal) and the world-famous OLD CHICAGO’S BLUES BAND (Speakeasy Records)!
During this time, the brothers (who both sing and play all instruments including guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, and harmonica) shared the stage with some of the world’s top r&b legends including Buddy Guy, BB King, Chicago Pete, Downchild Blues Band, Powder Blues band, The Contours, The Miracles, Martha Reeves Dutch Mason & Jeff Healy to name a few…thus gaining a wealth of on-stage experience and picking up many of the *tricks of the trade* from the masters of the craft!
It was in 1994 that the real brothers first donned the stage gear made famous by John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd, during an impromptu Halloween performance at the Old Chicago’s blues festival. Following this performance, the brothers never looked back and began working as a much-heralded full-time R&B tribute under the name of THE SOUL BROTHERS! the Ultimate Tribute to BLUES, RHYTHM & BLUES, AND SOUL!
This 2-hour live SOUL BROTHERS show has taken the brothers all over the world performing in blues festivals, arena concerts, and with the D.N.D/U.S.O. SHOW TOURS entertaining the troupes in remote locations throughout the world. They have also performed as an impressive blues brothers tribute during several extended runs with the Canadian-based LEGENDS ALIVE, LEGENDS IN CONCERT USA, and the European-based STARS IN CONCERT tribute show.
In 2005 the brothers teamed up with producer Bernhard Kurz to create a full-on R&B tribute show combining the 70’S magic of bluesmen Dan Aykroyd & John Belushi with the sweet soul sounds of Sam and Dave and the groove and energy of James Brown! So we’re here this morning to report that the ad hoc fun lovin’ rock ‘n blues event organizers, The Paraiso Society, had some Great Food And Drink Last Night At Madana Restaurant and Bar in Zihua Centro Madana. Our little Navidad get together and face-to-face chat. And we had some great stuffed animals and toys brought in for our “More Smiles For Kids At Christmas” campaign too. Plus we talked about who is going to open and close the 3-4 hour evening. The Blues Bros mid-evening. A big announcement coming on the weekend folks!

We’ve announced Tequila Blues Explosion Fest International II for January 10-13, 2019 with many great performers. See below for the list. And more to be announced.
The fabulous Blues Brothers show on January 10 by Geoff and Chris Dahl, who are considered one of the top two or three Blues Brothers Tribute acts in the world, and are fabulous musicians in their own right, helps kick off the Festival on Thursday, plus we preview our Festival performers that night.
Full concerts Friday and Saturday nights with different material and lineups each night. Then we finish off the Festival with the amazing Blues Kruise 4 Kids on Sunday, January 13 on Picante Catamaran’s Sunset Cruise. Festival Performers will provide the music and fun. If you’ve never been on the Picante Catamaran, check out the many great reviews. “The best part of our vacation” many people say.
